The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival Foundation, Inc. (the “Foundation”) provides grants to promote community appreciation of the arts and supports art education through scholarships and programs. The Foundation supports The Children’s Workshop Village, The Leon Theodore Schools Exhibit, The Emerging Artists Program, The Image Review Workshop and Performing Arts at The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. It also funds the Jean Alice Oliphant Scholarship at Rollins College in Winter Park and The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival Scholarship at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. This year three scholarships were awarded at Rollins College and three at UCF to students with various art-related majors.
The Foundation has received funding in 2014-2015 from donations by The Winter Park-based Galloway Foundation, The Rotary Club of Winter Park and from The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. United Cerebral Palsy and VSA Florida contributed resources to the Children’s Workshop this year to make it more accessible to handicapped children.
The 2015 WPSAF Board of Directors contributed $10,000 to the Foundation’s scholarship funds this year in memory of Mike Enoch, Lynn Hough, Rick Lang, and Brian Phaneuf for their contributions to the longevity and success of our festival.
The Foundation, a Florida corporation not-for-profit, was approved as a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt entity in September of 2008 by the Internal Revenue Service.
